卖家自己说的：SAPHIRET is very rare, very collectible. It was made in Gablonz, Czechoslovakia in the mid-19th century and it was made by adding melted gold into molten sapphire blue glass. The result was a glass that can appear pink and blue in various lights and angles. The more rose or brown the glass, the more gold present. The process was so expensive that shortly after the turn of the century "saphiret" glass was no longer made.

*SAPPHARINE glass stones were made in Western Germany to mimic the earlier saphirets. Many high end mid-century costume jewelry designers used them and you can still buy loose cabochons and rhinestones that were never used. I have had some of those too that I have now sold out of.
